What happens when you click start?
your file will be scanned for any kind of personal data. All identified personal data will be filtered out before we proceed with further analysis. Your original data will be pre-processed in-memory and not stored temporariliy.
Why do we remove recognized personal data?
This step is required to protect your privacy and ensure full compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
What can you expect?
Our anonymization process will try to replace all occurrences of personally identifiable information (PII) with pseudonyms. Afterwards you will be presented with an anonymized document, which you can view or download. We urge you to check, whether the anonymization process performed to your expectation.
Since this is an automated process involving machine learning algorithms, it is possible, that the anonymization process did not catch all occurrences of PII in your document. Should the result not be satisfactory after repeated attempts, feel free to send us feedback.
Note however, that sending feedback from an e-mail address that identifies you by name makes you identifiable to us (though we have no interest in identifying our users). Also take note, that the content of your feedback e-mail might contain PII. Only write us an e-mail from an e-mail address you are comfortable sharing with us, and only write e-mail content, that you are comfortable sharing with us. For example, if you wanted to send us an anonymized document, but sent it from an e-mail address that contains your real name, that would render the anonymization useless.
